Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the procedures regarding meetings of creditors have changed.  Please check this website for detailed information.

For Debtors

Welcome to the Chapter 13 program!  A person who files for bankruptcy relief is called a “debtor.”  This section of the Chapter 13 Trustee’s website is for debtors — it provides information about your duties as well as information about what to do when life happens during your Chapter 13 case.  Please review the links to the left; they contain the answers to many questions.

Throughout this process it is important that you know your case number and whether your case was filed in the Winchester or Southern Division.  Your case number was assigned at the beginning of your case, and it takes the form of 1:23-bk-12345-ABC.  Your division, generally, is determined by the county in which you live.  The table below shows the judicial divisions of the Eastern District of Tennessee.

Courthouse Division Counties Included
Chattanooga Southern Bledsoe, Bradley, Hamilton, McMinn, Marion, Meigs, Polk, Rhea and Sequatchie
Winchester Winchester Bedford, Coffee, Franklin, Grundy, Lincoln, Moore, Warren and Van Buren
